Added 1-17-12 Condolences Leo Hindsley, a former board member of MDYC during the founding of the chorus, passed away on November 29th. We express our sympathy to his wife, Darlene, and family. Added 6-9-11 Prayer Request Eric Halstead, a current member, had surgery on June 15th to remove a brain tumor that spread into his jaw and surrounding facial nerves; please continue to keep Eric and his family in your prayers. recording this year. Added 11-11-10 - Condolences We are sad to report that one of our former members, Veronica (Arnett) King, lost her husband, Jeremy King on November 9, 2010. Jeremy is survived by two children, and Veronica is expecting their third in February. Those wishing to donate to a Memorial Fund to help Veronica and her children financially may contact Rochester Church of Christ. Added 08-16-09 - Condolences We extend our sympathy to the family Natalie Young, a former member who was tragically lost in an automotive accident. Please keep the Young Family and Trenton Church of Christ in your prayers. Added 03-17-09 - Condolences Our brother, David Kirkpatrick passed away on Monday, March 16. KP served as a Board member with the chorus. His leadership and kindness to our youth and their parents will never be forgotten. We will miss him even as he goes home to his reward. Katie's Wings is a non-profit organization founded by the Kirkpatrick family in memory of their daughter, Katie, which provides assistance to local people dealing with cancer by offering products and services through Katie's Spa in Lapeer. Please keep Niki, Sara, Kevin, Jake and Hayley-Kate in your prayers. Added 1-07-09 - Condolences MDYC wishes to express sympathy to the family of Bruce Starkey. Bruce was the father of Erica Starkey-Rossell (former member) and father-in-law halftime director Shane Rossell. Please keep Erica, her mother Joy Starkey, and their family in your prayers. Added 7-11-08 - Condolences MDYC is sad to report that Kathy Petrich, former halftime director, passed away. Added 05-20-08 - Condolences MDYC regrets to inform that Daniel and Alicia Tarjeft, two former MDYC members of recent years, lost both their parents Saturday evening. Dan and Jennifer Tarjeft were killed in a motorcycle accident. Dan was an Elder at Gateway Church of Christ, and his wife Jennifer was one of the church secretaries. Tarjeft Obituary: Two more families were also deeply affected by this accident. Aaron and Jen Wilmoth’s motorcycle was also hit. Both of them have had amputations performed on their left leg. Many members will know Aaron, as he drove Gateway’s bus to every practice and concert during the past year, as well as driving the chorus on their 2008 Spring Tour. Aaron and Jen are also members at Gateway. One of our board members, Nina Hyder, and her husband, Ron, were on a third motorcycle along with the other two. Ron and Nina were physically unharmed. They are also members at Gateway. Please remember the Tarjeft family, Wilmoth family, Hyder family, and the entire Gateway family during this difficult time. She was a member at Roseville Church of Christ. Added 01-23-07 - Condolences MDYC wishes to express its condolences to the family of Ian Simpson. Ian passed away on Friday, January 19 at the age of 26. He was a member at Parkside Church of Christ. Please pray for the family of Ian. Added 07-29-06 - Condolences MDYC expresses its condolences to the family of John Bowden, one of our current members who passed away. John collapsed suddenly while playing a game of soccer. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for a donation to be made. 1992-1996). Tricia lost her battle to cancer. She is
